that is the odor of love, my friend.  this summer, love vapors are in the air not only for our wedding cupcake couples (which have been so many that we sadly have had to turn some eager couples away, sending them to find frosted wedding towers elsewhere) but for our own cupcake family as well. heather, a close cupcake cousin to jami, found her special explorer while geocaching, a mind sport that is all the rage in the gps community. that’s right, the adorable mr. rob tracked his coordinates right to heather’s heart and the two will tie the knot and their longitudes this fall in chillicothe, ohio. that’s congrats, heather and rob! how cute are you?! so cute!

magnolia, our hearts are with you

we were just told that new york’s very own magnolia bakery was shut down earlier today by the (gasp!) department of health. several reasons were sited (see this here article) but the magnolia bakists believe they will have the "issues" rectified by morning. until then, we will think good happy thoughts and send them eastward.

 in other news, thanks to matt and jake, our new patio tables are out and cuter than ever! the folks of nw portland are loving them! there’s never been a better place to eat a cupcake, except in bed while watching a marathon of america’s next top model, but we couldn’t fit as many beds on the patio as we could tables. and cable reception is not so good out there.

but please come down and cool off under our fluffy pink umbrellas, enjoy an ice cold iced coffee and a cupcake or four! you too, tyra!

saint cupcake would like to say mazel tov to all of the brides and bride grooms (we love saying that) who are getting married tomorrow, the coolest date all year, 07-07-07. it’s been two thousand years since we’ve been able to have this rad calendar combo and couples around the world are taking advantage of the triple sev. yeah, I said triple sev. saint cupcake is honored to be the frosted dessert tower of choice at some of these weddings. WE LOVE LOVE!

and on a strange note, you know how seven is a lucky number and thirteen is thought of as unlucky? would you believe me if I told you that we are making exactly 1313 cupcakes for the 07-07-07 weddings? what does it all mean?

and just as an FYI, did you know you can take packing peanuts to a local shipping store and they can reuse them? for free! if you are getting married, you will be very happy to have this info after you open up your pile of gifts.

happy birthday, america! we sure hope someone ordered you a birthday cupcake and a candle so we as a nation can collectively blow it out as you make a wish. and for the love of steve, make a wish that counts this year.

anyway, in honor of you, america and everything you stand for (ok, well maybe just the capitalism part and the right to bear cupcakes) we will keep our doors open until 5 pm (that’s about when the bbqs start getting crazy and we get to show up)!

so again, america, happy b-day. you don’t look a day over 229! have you had some work done? I’m sorry, that’s none of our business.
