Mimi Bars are for everyone!

These delicious bars were named in honor of Jami’s friend Stephanie, who runs Noun. First things first: Mimi is the name that Theo (Jami’s little boy) gave to Stephanie. The name “Mimi” has nothing to do with the ingredients, i.e. there are no mimes, mimosas, Miamis, minecrafts, or Mississippis in the bars.

So… “how did these bars come to be?” is the question we’re answering here. First, read up on history of these bestest of friends who are Stephanie and Jami right here. Jami loves to bake and come up with recipes and she loves her friends. Stephanie loves 7 layer bars of all kinds, so Jami concocted a bar that was not too fancy and had all the layers of things that Stephanie loved: coconut, chocolate, pecans, and of course, a few other layers of top secret sweets.

Fun rumor: Stephanie may have asked for brownie from a mix at her wedding, which Jami refused to make and instead made her own recipe to mimic store-bought brownies.

The True Story of Bacon Scones

Among the items you’ll find in the vast and ever-growing library which are our menu selections, you’ll find the hamtastic delight known as the bacon scone. More specifically, our bacon scones with bacon & fig compote.

The inspiration for these scones was simple: a giant slab of bacon arrived at the bakery and Jami wanted to try something different with it:

With no hesitation, she decided to devise a scone recipe to take full advantage of the copious amount of tasty bites that ginormous slab would provide.
As far as throwing figs in the mix - that stroke of genius is just one of those things. That’s how inspiration works.  Sometimes, you can’t overthink it or try to determine where it comes from.

We’ve been making them for a few weeks now and we’re all going a little bananas after trying them. Someone here called them “the best scone I’ve ever had in my life”. They’re seriously that good. Bacon scone with bacon/fig compote. Try one.

hey there everyone!
happy labor day to you - and you!
if you’re not laboring at your job today and are instead attending a blowout bbq, you should stop by for treats to bring along. and if your bbq isn’t going to be a blowout, you should still get treats to bring the whole shindig up to the next level. or something like that.

our SW location (at the corner of SW 12 & Morrison) is open today. our SE location is closed because it’s Monday and we’re always closed on Monday over there.
